Welcome to Mexico! Transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Guided tour of Mexico City and a visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe. In the afternoon, glide through the canals of Xochimilco on a flower-decked trajinera. In the evening, enjoy mariachi music at Plaza Garibaldi with dinner included.
Visit the Ex-Hacienda de Chautla, with its English-style castle rising from a forest lake, then the historic town of Cholula. Continue to Puebla, renowned for its cuisine and colonial buildings, for the night.
Drive to Oaxaca and visit Monte Albán, the great Zapotec city overlooking the valley (admission and guided tour included). Free time afterwards in Oaxaca's vibrant historic centre.
Travel through mountain villages to the magical town of Mitla, then cross the Oaxacan sierras with lunch included along the way. Arrive in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, capital of Chiapas.
Take a boat through the dramatic Sumidero Canyon and stroll through Chiapa de Corzo. Visit the Maya communities of Zinacantán and San Juan Chamula, then arrive in the colonial city of San Cristóbal de las Casas for free time.
Drive through the Chiapas highlands, home to traditional Maya communities, with a stop in Ocosingo. Visit the turquoise cascades of Agua Azul National Park (lunch included) and walk behind the Misol-Ha waterfall. Continue to Palenque, with dinner included.
Explore the jungle-wrapped Maya city of Palenque, then travel through Tabasco to Campeche on the Gulf of Mexico, a walled port city of colourful colonial buildings. Dinner included.
Head into Yucatán to Mérida, a city rich in colonial and Maya heritage. The afternoon is free, and in the evening we take you to the main square for dinner at your choice of restaurants.
Stop in the yellow-painted magical town of Izamal, then explore Chichén Itzá, the most celebrated of all Maya sites, with a traditional Yucatecan lunch included. Continue to the fishing village of Río Lagartos in its biosphere reserve.
Take a morning boat trip through the mangroves of Río Lagartos to see its birdlife. Visit the colonial town of Valladolid, then swim or explore at the Choj Ha cenote with its jungle setting and underground lake. Arrive in Cancún in the evening.
After breakfast, your tour ends. Airport transfer can be arranged on request.
