Performing Umrah is a deeply personal journey, and good planning lets you focus on worship rather than logistics. This guide covers the current Umrah season dates, how the Umrah visa works for Indian pilgrims, the documents and vaccinations you need, and the Umrah packages we arrange for travellers from Lucknow.
Umrah season 1448 AH: key dates
The current Umrah season is open now. According to the published schedule:
- Last date for Umrah visa issuance: 9 March 2027
- Last date to enter Saudi Arabia for Umrah: 23 March 2027
- All pilgrims must depart by: 7 April 2027
These dates are set by the Saudi authorities and can change, so we confirm them again when you book.
How the Umrah visa works for Indians
- Indian pilgrims receive the Umrah visa through a licensed agent's package that includes the visa, hotels and transport. Hotels and transport must be confirmed before the visa is issued.
- Each pilgrim is registered on Nusuk, Saudi Arabia's official Umrah platform, and receives the required Umrah permit.
- After the visa is issued, you must enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days.
- Women aged 18 and above can perform Umrah without a mahram, as per current Saudi rules.
Our Umrah packages include the Umrah visa with Nusuk permit and a guided ziyarat in Makkah and Madinah with a mutawwif.
Documents and vaccination checklist
- Passport valid for at least six months, with two blank pages.
- Passport-size photograph to Saudi specifications.
- Meningococcal (ACWY) vaccination certificate for pilgrims aged one and above, taken at least 10 days before arrival.
- Confirmed return flights.
Best time to perform Umrah
The cooler months from November to February are the most comfortable, especially for elderly pilgrims. Ramadan is the most spiritually rewarding and most crowded period, so book well in advance. School holidays and long weekends also fill up early.
Flights from Lucknow
Pilgrims from Lucknow usually fly to Jeddah for Makkah, returning from Madinah or Jeddah. Our IATA-approved ticketing desk books the best routing for your dates. The Haramain high-speed train between Makkah and Madinah can be added as an option.
