With more than 7,000 islands, white-sand beaches and lagoons that look unreal, the Philippines is Asia's rising beach destination for Indian honeymooners and families. Visa-free entry for Indians makes it even easier. Here is how to plan your trip from Lucknow.
Where to go
- Boracay: powdery White Beach, sunset sailing and island hopping. Ideal for honeymooners.
- Palawan (El Nido and Coron): limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons and some of the clearest water in Asia.
- Cebu: heritage sites, waterfalls and whale shark encounters at Oslob.
- Bohol: the Chocolate Hills, tiny tarsiers and Panglao Island's beaches.
- Manila and Luzon: Spanish-era Intramuros, Tagaytay's Taal Volcano views and the cool hill town of Baguio.
- Leyte: the Kalanggaman sandbar and quiet coves of Limasawa, far from the crowds.
