The UAE is the most-booked international holiday from Lucknow, and it is easy to see why: non-stop flights of about four hours, a quick e-visa, Indian food everywhere and something for every kind of traveller. This guide explains how the seven emirates differ, when to go and which of our UAE packages fits your trip.
The UAE at a glance: which emirate is for you?
- Dubai: skyline, shopping, desert safaris and theme parks. The best first trip.
- Abu Dhabi: the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Yas Island's theme parks. Calmer and great for families.
- Sharjah: heritage, museums and the mountains and beaches of Khor Fakkan on the east coast.
- Ras Al Khaimah: Jebel Jais, the UAE's highest mountain, with the world's longest zipline and quiet beach resorts. Ideal for honeymooners.
Getting there from Lucknow
Lucknow has daily non-stop flights to Dubai and direct services to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with a flying time of roughly four hours. Flights are not included in our land packages by default, so you can choose the airline and timing that suit you. Add them in Get a Quote and our IATA-approved ticketing desk will price them with your package.
UAE visa for Indian travellers
Most Indian passport holders need a UAE tourist e-visa before departure, usually issued within a few working days. A visa on arrival applies only to Indians holding certain documents, such as a valid US visa or green card, or a UK or EU residence permit. Your passport must be valid for at least six months. Several of our Dubai packages already include the UAE tourist visa.
Best time to visit

December brings New Year fireworks and Dubai's shopping season, and Global Village is open from mid-October to May. Summer (June to September) is very hot but brings the lowest hotel rates and indoor attractions galore.
